Amateur Astronomer spotted a newborn supernova: SN-2016gkg

Discovery images of the supernova 2016gkg, obtained by amateur astronomer Victor Buso on September 20, 2016. The newborn supernova appears on bottom center-right, to the south of the host galaxy, the spiral NGC 613, a barred spiral galaxy located some 67 million light years away in the southern constellation of Sculptor..
