First selfie of Chang'e 4 from the far side of the moon

The follow-up to Chang’e 3, the first Chinese landing on the Moon on December 14, 2013, Chang’e 4 was launched on December 7, 2018.

These missions are named after Chang’e, the goddess of the Moon in Chinese mythology.

Chang’e 4 entered orbit around the Moon on December 12, 2018. The lander touched down on the far side of the Moon on 3 January 2019 at 02:26 UTC.
