Pacific Ocean from Space

The Pacific Ocean is by far Earth’s largest ocean basin, covering an area of about 59 million square miles (155 million square kilometers) and containing more than half of the free water on Earth, according to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). It’s so big that all of the world’s continents could fit into it. Photo: NASA
