Actaeon beetle (Megasoma actaeon)

Actaeon beetle (Megasoma actaeon) is a rhinoceros beetle belonging to the Scarabaeidae family. It named after Actaeon, a famous Theban hero in Greek mythology. With a large, bulky body, it is one of the largest of all beetles, measuring up to 7 centimeters (2.8 in) across, with a body length of about 5–12 centimeters (2.0–4.7 in). The males can grow to be 13.5 cm (5.4 in) long by 4 cm (1.6 in) thick. This species can be found in South America, particularly in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.
