Hawaii from the International Space Station, February 28, 2015

European Space Agency astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti (twitter: @AstroSamantha) took this photograph of the island of Hawaii and posted it to social media on Feb. 28, 2015. Cristoforetti wrote, “And suddenly as we flew over the Pacific… the island of #Hawaii with its volcanoes! #HelloEarth”. Mauna Kea, the highest point of the island with 4,205 m (13,796 ft) is the closest volcano to us in the photo. Considered the largest volcano on Earth (both by mass and by volume, despite ts peak is about 120 feet/37 meters lower than that of its neighbor, Mauna Kea), the Mauna Loa is also clearly visible.
