Those of us who have grown up watching the iconic space saga Star Wars are quite informed about what robots can accomplish. While that’s only a reel representation, but it definitely points to an abundance of opportunities in the realm of space research.Continue reading The Confluence Of Robotics With Space Research And Exploration
Drones have been the talk of the town for quite a sometime. Beyond their tactical use in wars and espionage, they are effective in making our lives simpler. Being one of the most innovative inventions so far, drones are now a boon for our societies in many ways.Continue reading 10 Ways Drone Technology will Influence Our Society in Near Future
Technology, over the years, has changed its form, functionality
The flipside of the coin – you could probably recall the last time you booked an Uber to pick you up, directly from your place. That’s technology for you, and this is how it is changing the world around us. Take a look.Continue reading Technology and its Role in Changing the World Around Us
Disaster experts believe there is a lot more we are capable of doing to avert natural calamities. The key lies in technology, specifically its applications in the disaster management and humanitarian sectors.Continue reading How Can Technology Help Minimize The Damage From Natural Disasters?
First of all, let us begin by understanding what is blockchain?
Satoshi Nakamoto in the year 2009 conceptualized the distributed blockchain. A blockchain is basically a database of digital transactions which is incorruptible. It is programmed in such a way so that it can record the value of everything.Continue reading Blockchain Technology: The Future of Internet Innovation
The mighty Saturn V, the rocket that took humans to the moon, remains the tallest, heaviest, and most powerful rocket ever brought to operational status (as of 2018). It was used by NASA between 1967 and 1973. It was powered by five Rocketdyne F-1 engines. With a thrust of 1,746,000
Today, private companies like SpaceX, Blue Origin, and space agencies like NASA trying to build powerful rockets in order to reach Moon and Mars. But, we’ve already built a rocket which took us to the moon, why don’t we simply remake it (and the engines)? In the video below, Youtube user Curious Droid answers this question.Continue reading Why can’t we Remake the Rocketdyne F-1 Engine, which took humans to the Moon?
Where is the coldest known place in the Universe? It may sound strange, but today, it is here on Earth: in 1995, in a laboratory in M.I.T. (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), the German physicist Wolfgang Ketterle and his colleagues have cooled a sodium gas to the lowest temperature ever recorded, only half-a-billionth of a degree above absolute zero.
But, soon, this record will be broken. NASA is going to launch a facility to the International Space Station (ISS) that will contain a spot 10 billion times colder than the outer space. The new Cold Atom Laboratory (CAL) facility, which will operate in microgravity, could help answer some big questions in modern physics, allowing researchers to dive deep into the quantum realm in a way that would never be possible here on Earth.Continue reading Soon, the ISS Will Be the Coldest Known Place in the Universe
In 1981, when I was nine years old, my father took me to see Raiders of the Lost Ark. Although I had to squint my eyes during some of the scary scenes, I loved it – in particular because I was fairly sure that Harrison Ford’s character was based on my dad. My father was a palaeontologist at the University of Chicago, and I’d gone on several field trips with him to the Rocky Mountains, where he seemed to transform into a rock-hammer-wielding superhero.
